Fence Line Clearing

Fence line clearing opens up overgrown fence rows so you can build a new fence, repair an old one, or simply walk and check it, without brush, cedar and vines in the way.

What It Is

What fence line clearing does

Fence rows are where brush, cedar, briars and vines grow thickest, because mowers can’t reach them. Left alone, they push on the wire, hide damage and give animals a way through.

We clear a strip along the fence, usually 10 to 20 feet wide, and mulch the brush in place. On existing fences we work carefully along the wire; for new fences we clear the full line so your fence crew can get straight to work.

Pricing

What fence line clearing costs

Fence line work is usually priced by the job or by the hour, because it depends on length and how thick the row is. As a guide, acreage clearing runs $1,500–$2,800 per acre for light brush and $2,800–$4,500 per acre for heavy cedar and brush.

Your exact price depends on how thick the growth is, tree size, access and travel distance. You get it in writing after a free on-site walkthrough. See the full cost guide.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How wide do you clear along a fence?

Usually 10 to 20 feet, depending on what you need. We agree on the width during the walkthrough.

We work carefully along existing wire. If a section is in bad shape, we point it out before we start.

Can you clear a line for a new fence that isn’t built yet?

Yes. We clear the full line so your fence crew can set posts and run wire right away.

How is fence line clearing priced?

Usually by the job or by the hour, based on the length of fence and how thick the growth is. You get a written price after a free walkthrough.

What happens to the brush and cedar?

It is mulched in place along the fence line. Nothing to burn or haul.
